Clergy Notes — Sunday, April 9, 2017
We are entering our final week of the 5 Marks of Love course that we have studied as a community over the last five weeks. I have been moved and impressed by both the Thursday and Sunday group’s willingness to engage with the activities and discussions, and the level of trust that has been quickly established.
While the content of the course has been interesting and inspiring for the time of Lent, I think what has struck me most, is how much I have learned about each of you. The conversations between all of us and the growth in relationship has been beautiful to behold, and be a part of. I am excited to see what comes next for us in continued formation, and I look forward to supporting those of you who will be confirmed and received into The Anglican Church of Canada on May 13th, 2017.
As we move into Holy Week I am struck once again by the journey we are on, both as companions of one another in the body of our community, and as individuals. Since last Easter we have undergone much change, discussions about who we are and who we want to be. We have been granted the gift of stability with Fr. Kevin’s appointment as Rector, and can now focus on God’s mission for us in the world without the shadow of uncertainty looming. What has changed for you personally this past year? What are you thankful for? What do you want to give up to God and lay at the foot of the cross?
