September is here!

Some of us are back to school, some back to work after the Labour Day weekend. The St. James’ Music Academy will return Mon. Sept. 11, and it is 106 days until Christmas! But before I run away with an early rendition of jingle bells, let me share with you some of what will be happening here at St. James’!

September brings with it the beginning of our Thursday night study group beginning September 21st, the Reconciliation Feast will be held on September 23rd, we have Silent Prayer with the Blessed Sacrament on the 10th, as well as a new diaconal intern starting with us this Sunday! On the September 24th we will welcome Bishop Mark McDonald, who will preach at the Low Mass and then join us on the Walk for Reconciliation. Organ Recital on the 29th and the Parish Council Meeting on September 30th, and that’s just some of September!

As you can tell I am excited about what we are doing now and what we have coming up. I hope you are as well and that you will take a look at the calendar, stay up to date with The Thurible and take part actively as we continue to grow together in Christ.

It is good for us to be here together, and it is a joy to welcome others each week. This time of year gives us the opportunity to reconnect following the summer months. If you would like to meet with me or Fr. Kevin to catch up we would love to hear from you. Remember Fr. K. is away until September 22nd.

Grace and peace to you all, I hope to see you soon!
