Hummingbird Print & Reconciliation Feast Video

On September 23, 2017, the people and clergy of St. James’ Anglican Church and its Street Outreach Initiative offered a Feast for Survivors of the Indian Residential Schools. We remembered the children and teens who attended the schools — including those who never returned home — seeking to honour their qualities of Dignity, Courage, and Resilience.

Haida artist Ron Victor LaRochelle contributed a limited edition print of a hummingbird as the symbol of the Feast, and it now hangs below the carved cedar mask in the Narthex. Anglican Video produced a 20-minute documentary film about the Feast including interviews with guests, parishioners and clergy, and it is now available for viewing on the St. James’ website here
