Clergy Notes — February 24, 2019

FEB 24

This Sunday sees our Annual Vestry (my fourth!), where we review the year that is past, our various ministries of worship, mission, and service, and our financial affairs. We thank parish officers, guild members and volunteers for their contribution to St James’, and elect officers for the coming year. Doug Ibbott stands down as Warden: we are grateful for his service in so many ways over the years, and we wish him Godspeed as he takes up his exciting new post as Principal of the Canadian International School in Osaka, Japan.

On Monday the parish offices will move into the parish centre, on the second floor. It will take a little while to settle in, but this an exciting development. Plans are currently being made for the furnishing of the first floor hospitality and meeting rooms; it may be a few weeks before these are ready.

Those who attended the Parish Council in January were able to see the quality of the renovation works: we are indebted to the Renovation Committee for their oversight and attention to detail. Celebratory events will be held in due course.

As we give thanks for this year that is past, let us ask for God’s blessing on all that is to come.
