As we are about to celebrate Christmas very differently this year, nonetheless we draw confidence from the Good News that in the birth of the Christ-Child, Emmanuel, God-is-with-us, even in this dreadful time of pandemic. In the Gospel of Christmas Day St John tells us that “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it.”
