Clergy Notes — Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost, August 8, 2021

Next Saturday, August 14, the Eve of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Vigil Mass at 4:00 pm will mark the beginning of Mother Amanda’s priestly ministry amongst us. At the end of the Mass there will be an opportunity for all who wish to receive an individual blessing from Mother Amanda.

There will be simple ceremonial, with choral music provided by a small number of singers, and congregational hymns. It is this simple pattern which we plan to follow when the 10:30 am Solemn Mass resumes. Currently we hope this will be on Sunday, September 5, but that of course depends on how the Covid situation unfolds. We shall move forward carefully, so it may be some months before there is full choir and ceremonial.

When the 10:30 am Mass is in place, the Zoom Liturgy at Home will move to 9:00 am. I continue to be thankful for the way in which this online technology has helped to keep our community together through this difficult time, and enabled us to maintain the worthy offering of worship which is so much part of our St. James’ tradition.

Every blessing,

Fr. Kevin
