Clergy Notes — Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost, August 29, 2021
Next Sunday we shall resume the 10:30 am Solemn Mass in church, and the Zoom Liturgy at Home will move to 9:00 am. For the time being, Mass will continue to be said on Saturdays at 4:00 pm, and on Wednesdays at 12:10 pm.
The wearing of masks will be expected, as will the respecting of physical distance. Sanitizer is available in church.
As at this time last year, the ceremonial at Mass will be in a simpler style as we accustom ourselves to being back in church. Holy Communion will continue to be administered in one kind only. There will be choral music, and congregational singing too. Initially the choir may be small in number, as we discover the best way to work in the light of Covid concerns.
It is so good to have the opportunity to be together in church again! We recognise though that many of our number may not yet be ready to attend in person, and that’s perfectly alright. That’s why we shall continue the Zoom Liturgy at Home.
Formation sessions will begin in mid-September (details in the bulletin). These will be online, via Zoom.
We are pleased to announce that after our voluntary Fire Code upgrade (works undertaken while the church has been closed), we have received our Occupant Load Permit from the City of Vancouver: the previous restrictions are now lifted. We are able to report too that the shingles on the Parish Centre roof have been renewed over the summer.
Every blessing,
Fr. Kevin
