On Friday 1 November, the Solemn Requiem for All Souls’ (the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed) will be sung by the High Mass Choir at 6.30 pm. The setting of the Mass is Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, a deeply personal work written in the late 1880s. Fauré wrote of the work that it is dominated from beginning to end by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest.
