The Gesualdo Six is a vocal ensemble comprised of some of the UKís finest young consort singers, directed by Owain Park. Formed in March 2014 for a performance of Gesualdoís Tenebrae Responsories in the chapel of Trinity College, Cambridge, the group has given more than sixty performances in the United Kingdom and Europe.
They have recently released the CD English Motets, which showcases the extraordinary journey composition took around the English Reformation, including works by Tallis, Byrd, Sheppard, Dunstable and Cornysh.
The Gesualdo Six will be performing at St Jamesí Anglican Church on Saturday, July 21st, at 7.30 pm. The programme will include works by Canadian composers as well as music from the renaissance to celebrate the renewal of an ancient tradition.
