Clergy Notes — September 7, 2025
This week marks the beginning of a new school term, and perhaps because of that, many folks think of this time of year as an opportunity for a fresh start. Habits are renewed, rituals taken up again, schedules tighten up. Even if you are not in school, you may have family members going back to school, or simply be caught up in the collective energy of this season of new beginnings.
What a wonderful opportunity to renew our commitment to discipleship as well! Like everything else in our life, discipleship requires commitment; the root of the word is, in fact, ‘discipline’. Whether you are seeking to recommit to reading your bible regularly, praying the daily office, or growing in your learning and knowledge of the faith and how to live the Christian life, St. James’ has many opportunities to join in with your community and grow together.
We continue to say the Daily Office together on Zoom at 9 am and 5 pm every day, and our weekly Bible study will resume this coming Wednesday. We are also planning some exciting Formation studies this fall, so stay tuned to hear more about those – and let us know if there are topics you’d like to see covered!
Whether you are returning to school or renewing your commitment to something important, may your efforts be blessed!
