Clergy Notes — April 5, 2026
Alleluia! Christ has risen!
The Lord is risen indeed, Alleluia!
It is a joyful day for the Church and all Christian people, but also, for the whole of creation. The reflection I chose by Fr Teilhard is one of my favourites; in it he so brilliantly captures the cosmic mystery of the resurrected Christ, and its implications not just for us humans but for all created matter. All things are touched and transformed by the mystery of the resurrection, and caught up in the joy of unity with the Divine, who loves so completely and fully: every tiny cell, every fibre of our beings.
How can we not respond in equal measure, with joy and passion and desire for our risen Lord; a desire “as vast as the universe”?
Today and in the coming weeks ahead, may we all make space for that holy desire to burn in us, and to allow the power of Christ’s love to transform us anew.
